Why does communication get so much harder with the person who matters most?
You may be thoughtful, articulate and emotionally aware in most areas of your life … and still find yourself shutting down, reacting, over-explaining, doubting yourself or not saying what you really mean when the conversation is with your partner.
That’s the work I care about.
In fact, my mission is to help couples and individuals in long term relationships build emotionally intelligent, sovereign partnerships that honor each other’s uniqueness.

So, hey! I’m Leanne …
What you may know about me is that I’m a relationship coach who helps couples create intimate connection and communication in their relationship so they can go from feeling like disconnected roommates to romantic partners again.
But what you may not know about me is that my partner and I were separated for almost five years after I finally said, “I’m done” and ended our relationship that was full of disconnection and lack of emotional intimacy.
You might notice that I said we were separated for almost five years. So, what happened at that point?
We got back together (and even had a superhero re-wedding, which is another story for another time)!
We didn’t reconnect because we learned a few better words to say.
It started with a lot of individual work on the underlying stuff that had created the conflict.
And then in a deep conversation in the car of all places, we agreed:
To always communicate with each other and do so in a healthy, constructive way.
To honor our authentic selves and support each other in becoming the best version of ourselves.
And to intentionally create connection in our relationship (because it’s so easy to get lost in the stress of life, jobs, finances, kids and everything else).

So, now what? And how do you create emotional intimacy (connection) in your relationship?
Well, we’ve continued to do all we agreed to, and more. And we created a deep connection, emotional intimacy, authentic sex and calm, honest communication.
This is why I’m so passionate about helping you create connection in your relationship, too. I know the power of it!
I created Connection for Couples, The Connected Relationship Method and The VOICE Method so you can create connection in your relationship, healthy communication and shift the underlying stuff (hopefully all much more quickly than I did!).
The VOICE Method is the communication and emotional-intelligence component of my larger Connected Relationship Method. It helps you understand who you are, shift the conditioning that gets in the way, work with emotional reactivity, communicate what’s true and stay anchored in yourself.
Start With the Assessment

The Official Bio
Leanne Chesser (she/her) is a relationship coach with degrees in psychology and education and certifications in life, emotional intelligence, human design, mindset, sex and relationship coaching. She helps individuals and couples in long term relationships who communicate just fine … until it really matters. She helps them actually talk about the things that matter without reacting inwardly by silencing themselves or reacting outwardly by fighting.
After creating a deeply connected relationship and emotionally intelligent communication after a separation that resulted from lack of connection and lots of conflict, she created The VOICE Method and Your Sovereign Voice, a program for people in long term relationships who want to stop reacting, say what’s true, stay themselves in their relationship and actually create the deeper connection they want.
Leanne’s approach is based on working on the foundations and practical solutions that actually create change. She believes that it’s not just about the words or external communication skills, like “I” statements and conversation scripts. It’s about what goes on underneath, before you even open your mouth.
Her mission is to help people build emotionally intelligent, sovereign partnerships that honor each other’s uniqueness and to create a ripple effect of emotionally intelligent communication across the world.
